JDRF’S SPRING FOR A CURE 2013!

Our contribution to raising funds for Type 1 Diabetes at this year’s Spring for a Cure was packed full of flavor and taking on a form of its own! This Yagenbori Cured Beef Tenderloin with Kimchi Aioli, Cilantro and Crispy Shallots wrapped in Daikon was the talk of the room:

We plated and served almost 1,000 portions of these ethereal concoctions in under 2 hours. In terms of taste and presentation, the Dayboat Fluke Ceviche was a show-stopping success and it was the busiest event we’ve participated in so far!

The temperature is slowly dropping and our lunch menu is bulking up for the winter. All of the classic dishes are still in place but some heartier options such as a traditional buckwheat crepe “complete”, a tagine of winter vegetables and a 28 day aged burger are now available. It’s that time of the year when a few seasonal changes are in order! Some winter classics such as our French Onion Soup and Steak au Poivre have returned. Our signature Spicy Pino’s Lamb Burger and Homemade Parmesan Gnocchi have stayed due to continuing rave reviews. Several new dishes like Baked Buckwheat Crepes with wild mushrooms, wilted baby spinach and melted gruyere have made their way onto the line-up.
